No Subject Needed

Things have slowed down considerably in terms of things to talk about... I named this weeks blog as such cuz its just that, all over the place...

Work is busy as it always is, I'm a supervisor at my job so it gets kinda crazy sometimes with the expectation and everything and trying to do the right thing and set the best example for the other people working... This position definitely isnt for everybody, we tend to take responsibility for everything that happens while we are there, whether its individually our fault or not... Sometimes I think thats unfair because although we are supervisors, we are also human and we make mistakes and I think that the people who actually make the mistakes should be held accountable for it... but I think for the most part, our bosses realize that... However, I do love the people and the work that has always been the case... Something that makes my workplace special is we actually care about each other, we are always talking about the new stuff going on in our personal lives and if somebody is sick or something bad happens we check up on each other, we are just like family almost... and we stay in touch if people quit we dont just never talk again, we are always texting and talking when we cross paths... I love that aspect I feel comforted knowing when I leave I won't just lose touch with everybody there... speaking of which it will be 6 and a half years for me at my job this summer, I'm pretty happy about that, always looks good on a resume...

I had mentioned before my personal life was a struggle for me, it still is in some ways, for some of you reading this you might know some specifics but I'm not going to go into detail except to say that I'm using my kung fu and some other things to try and de-stress... I look forward to going to kung fu specifically for that reason alot of days lately, it seems like as soon as I go there and see somebody, anybody from Silent River it could just be another blue belt or any of the instructors, it calms me down and I dont feel the stress... I can't lie, I did consider quitting back when i had my attendance issues-there were days where I wanted to drop everything and be like I'm done, not a word of a joke-and now I have the foresight to see what a mistake that would have been in so many ways... Silent River as I have already stated is a one of a kind place... Not too many things can calm me right down if I'm mad or overstressed especially, just the sight of some people from this place just chills me right out... That and I believe in finishing what I start, not quitting in the middle of doing something, it drives me nuts not to finish what i started and it was always in the back of my mind, I felt pretty guilty during that time I was out... I'm trying my best to reverse that mistake now and so far so good...

I'm just gonna end with some food-for thought kind of stuff, just some little tidbits to think about til next week...

Some people have said that Prince William giving Kate Middleton his late mother Princess Diana's engagement ring for their wedding was a curse and that Kate will suffer a similar fate to Diana-true or not?

Ashton Kutcher is replacing Charlie Sheen in his show Two and a Half Men. Is this a good move?

There are reports that cops made 1 to 1.5 TIMES their usual wage for working overtime in the G8/G20 Summits, is this fair?

What's really in a word? An article was posted titled Words We Don't Say, listing all the words news readers don't like or want to see, among those listed are utilize instead of use, backchannel me instead of reply, build out instead of expand, and due to the fact that instead of because... furthermore, annoying phrases readers listed included merge together, mother's worst nightmare, perfect storm, putting out fires and needless to say...Also noted was words really disliked ending in gate, centric, based and wise... Are words really THAT big of a deal?

Doctors are saying to stay away from energy drinks and to consume them in severely limited amounts... they are saying that they contain caffeine, and even vitamins and herbal extracts with side effects that can cause seizures, delusion, heart problems and kidney or liver damage if overconsumed in the worst cases... they of course recommend water as the safest thing to drink... despite this U.S. sales alone for non-alcoholic energy drinks are expected to hit 9 BILLION in 2011, young people accounting for half of it, so can we imagine what the worldwide rate would be?

And last but not least, CONGRATS to all my guys from Silent River who placed in the Tiger Challenge! Kudos and pats on the back all around! Until next week...
